Vice News Tonight

Action

Vice News Tonight which premieres Oct. 10 (weeknights, 7:30 ET/PT) as the network's first daily series, won't just rehash the major stories of the day for those playing catch-up. Instead, the half-hour program assumes that viewers have already read the headlines on their phones and laptops, and want a more well-rounded, in-depth look at what's happening around the world.

As hackneyed, shallow and formulaic as network newscasts can be, they still offer something in terms of immediacy and comprehensiveness that Vice News Tonight, as it’s currently constituted, can’t pretend to compete with. If you like the Vice sensibility, though, you might enjoy the show’s capsule version of it. Just don’t expect the news to be new.
